Our Founder, Dr. Dan Fischer
Now an international leader in the dental industry, Ultradent began humbly in Dr. Fischer’s basement with his children as its first employees. Learn more about our founder, Dr. Dan Fischer and how it all began.
Now an international leader in the dental industry, Ultradent began humbly—in Dr. Fischer’s basement, with his children as its first employees.
As a young dentist, Dr. Fischer realized that rapid, profound hemostasis was imperative for quality operative dentistry. Because there were no products on the market that predictably controlled bleeding and sulcular fluid, he developed one. Considered one of Ultradent’s flagship products, Astringedent™, and later Viscostat™, resulted from Dr. Fischer’s insight, determination, and willingness to work after hours—using his own blood to test his efforts—to produce exactly what he felt the market needed.
Over three decades later, Dr. Fischer is still revolutionizing the dental industry. He has numerous patents to his name, and regularly lectures and writes articles about state-of-the-art dentistry. He also works part-time in his daughter’s dental practice, which enables him to connect with patients and practice minimally invasive dentistry—a philosophy around which Ultradent develops products and procedures.
Dr. Fischer strives continuously to “Improve Oral Health Globally,” and hopes to one day discover a cure for caries. In pursuing these goals, Dr. Fischer is a generous philanthropist, regularly donating time, money, and products to countless personal missions and organizations such as Sealants For Smiles, which places sealants on the teeth of children with limited preventative dental care. Dr. Fischer also champions The Diversity Foundation, which provides educational opportunities to vulnerable and underprivileged children, and has helped transform the lives of many young people who have been victims of FLDS polygamy.
When he isn’t working, he enjoys tending to his garden and spending time with his wife, children, and 30 grandchildren. Driven by a strong moral code, Dr. Fischer lives his life according to the same values that guide Ultradent.

Dr. Jaleena Fischer-Jessop
Chief Clinical Officer
Dr. Jaleena Fischer-Jessop graduated with honors in Oral Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2002. She later completed a two-year certification for straight wire orthodontics from the American Orthodontic Society. She served on the Utah Dental Association board for two years and has served on the national advisory board at the University of Utah Dental School for several years. She also currently works as an adjunct professor at the University of Utah Dental School. Dr. Fischer-Jessop owns a private dental practice where she has worked for 20 years with an emphasis on esthetic and minimally invasive dentistry. Since 2019, Dr. Fischer-Jessop has been Chief Clinical Officer at Ultradent Products, Inc. and is currently working towards an EMBA.
Dr. Gary Findley
Clinical Affairs Manager
After graduating in 1992 from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Dr. Findley returned to Utah to make his home, raise his family, and start his dental practice. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work with athletes as a team dentist for the Utah Grizzlies and as an on-site dentist for the hockey games during the 2002 Olympic Games. He has held positions in the Utah Dental Association and served as President of the Holladay District Dental Society. He has been working with Ultradent since 1996 and is currently manager of their clinical affairs department and involved in product development. He strongly agrees with their philosophy of improving oral health through minimally invasive dentistry. When he isn’t working, he enjoys outdoor motorsports and spending time with his children and two dogs.
Dr. Brett Richins
General Dentistry Advisor
After earning his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah in 2008, Dr. Richins received his doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2012. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Utah Dental Association. He continues to pursue his education and frequently attends advanced courses that cover topics such as Endodontics, Implantology, Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Pathology, TMJ, Sleep Apnea, and much more. He has also completed humanitarian dentistry in underserved areas of Jamaica, Vanuatu, and Appalachia. In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Richins spends one day a week working as a Clinical Advisor for Ultradent Products. His role at Ultradent allows Dr. Richins to be involved in testing and developing the latest dental products.
Dr. Brigham Stoker
General Dentistry Advisor
Dr. Stoker attended the University of Utah where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics Education and a master’s degree in Instrumentational Physics. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for dental school, and then returned to Salt Lake City to begin his private practice, where he has practiced for 12 years. He has hundreds of hours of continuing education in all aspects of dentistry, including implants, orthodontics, Invisalign, lasers, and oral sedation. When not practicing dentistry, you will find him hanging out with his wife and four kids or riding his mountain bike somewhere in the mountains of Utah.
Dr. Mark Pettit
General Dentistry Advisor
Dr. Mark Pettit graduated from Creighton School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska in 1994. He started his general dentistry practice in downtown Salt Lake City and has practiced for 28 years. Earlier in his career, he had a chance to serve on local dental boards and study groups. He has been fortunate to share his love of dentistry with many patients representing most parts of the world. He loves learning and growing as he offers state-of-the-art dentistry to his patients while never forgetting that people come first. Three years ago, Dr. Pettit joined Ultradent as a General Dentistry Advisor. Dr. Pettit speaks English and German.
Dr. Renato Miotto Palo
Endodontic/Whitening Clinical Advisor
Dr. Palo is a graduate of the Paulista University in São Paulo, Brazil. He obtained a specialized level of endodontics in a postgraduate program of the University of São Paulo in Bauru, Brazil and received his master's degree from the State University of São Paulo, São José dos Campos campus, where he also worked as a collaborating professor of endodontics. He completed his doctorate at the State University of São Paulo, Araraquara campus. He has worked as a part-time endodontist and part-time professor and presided over two postgraduate programs in Brazil. He has organized dental congresses, including as scientific coordinator of São Paulo Dental Meeting. He is often invited to judge master's and doctoral theses and has also worked as an article reviewer. Dr. Palo has carried out in vitro and in vivo experiments and has worked as a developer and evaluator of new materials. He has given more than 250 presentations in 66 countries. Today, Dr. Palo works in the Clinical Affairs Department at Ultradent Products. He speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
Dr. Rafael Beolchi
European Clinical Advisor
Dr. Beolchi graduated in dentistry from the University of São Paulo,Brazil, in 2000. He has maintained a private practice since 2001, working mainly in esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. In 2009 he received his master's degree in Biomaterials from the Institute of Energetic and Nuclear Research at the University of São Paulo. He currently teaches courses on esthetic dentistry with direct composites in national and international Institutes. Dr. Beolchi has several articles about the topics of Direct Esthetic Restorations with composites and light curing. He authored six book chapters on the fields of light curing and restorative dentistry. He collaborates with teaching Institutions, both nationally and internationally, and is a consultant on products and materials for the dental industry. He has lectured in more than 50 countries about Operative Dentistry, mainly on minimally invasive esthetic anterior restorations and light curing, either in Portuguese, Spanish, or English. He currently works for Ultradent as the European Clinical Consultant.
Dr. Adrian Goh
Apac Clinical Advisor
Dr. Adrian Goh obtained his BDS from the National University of Singapore in 2003. He served as a Dental Officer in the Ministry of Health, Singapore, from 2003–2008. He was awarded the Singapore Excellence Service Award, Silver in 2004, and was the youngest dental officer. He serves in different government institutions which include the National Dental Centre, Health promotion board, School Dental services, and Polyclinics. Dr. Goh was appointed head of Queenstown and Geylang polyclinics during his tenure. He joined private practice after finishing his bond with the government and was the physician leader for RafflesDental group Tampines branch (2012–2014) and Raffles Dental International (China) advisor (2014–2018). He completed his Certificate of Oral Implantology from the University of Frankfurt in 2010. He is now completing his Master of Oral Implantology at the University of Frankfurt. Dr. Goh is a multidisciplinary dental surgeon with a special interest in implantology and esthetic dentistry. He has presented posters and lectures both locally and internationally on implant and esthetic dentistry, and has been a KOL for Ultradent since 2004 and for Denstply Sirona / Astra Tech 2014–2016. He speaks English, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hokkien.
Dr. Paulo Vinicius Soares
Brazilian Clinical Advisor
Dr. Soares is a Professor of Operative Dentistry and Dental Materials at the Federal University of Uberlandia (FFU), Brazil, where he also received his master’s degree in 2005. Three years later he got his PhD from UNICAMP, SP. He pursued his post-doctoral in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2014. He has more than 54 manuscripts published in international periodicals, 14 chapters published in restorative dentistry and operative dentistry books, and has been the Director of the Non-Carious Cervical Lesion Research Group in Brazil since 2008. In 2017 he authored the book Non-Carious Cervical Lesions and Cervical Dentin Hypersensitivity—Etiology, Diagnosis and Treatment. He maintains a clinical practice focused on minimally invasive dentistry and dental esthetics.
Dr. Cesar Perez
Latin America Clinical Advisor
Dr. César Pérez graduated from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Mexico. He helped implement the Adhesion Research Laboratory in Monterrey Nuevo León, Mexico, at the Vamasa company and, as its coordinator, has been a visiting professor at various universities and teaching entities. Dr. Pérez is often requested to mentor/guide dental students to develop theses and research on the behavior of dental materials. He has given more than 200 conferences on esthetic dentistry in Mexico and Latin America. Today, he maintains a private practice focused on esthetic dentistry.
Crystal Barnes
Dental Hygiene Advisor
Crystal Barnes, RDH, attended Salt Lake Community College and graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2014. She has been in practice as a dental hygienist for 8 years and has been in the dental field for 12. Prior to hygiene, Crystal was a surgical assistant for 4 years with Utah Periodontal Specialists, where she thrived and broadened her knowledge in periodontal education. She discovered her love for learning and treating patients and knew dental hygiene would be a great fit. Crystal is a Dental Hygienist affiliate member as well as a member of the Utah Dental Association. She had the chance to be apart of a dental humanitarian trip to the Philippines in 2016 and plans to volunteer with many more throughout her life. Crystal enjoys being apart of the community, serving others, and being challenged with oral health and the treatment of periodontal disease. Outside of her professional life, Crystal is passionate about being active, whether it’s High Fitness, kickboxing, snowboarding, or hiking in the mountains. Most importantly, she loves being a mom to Ruby, a dog mama to Rylee, and a wife.
